‘Nay

‘Nay, magutom, waray pagkaon.

‘Nay, mauhaw, tagi’n irimnon.

‘Nay, mapaso, tagi’n pamaypay.

‘Nay, mahagkot, magamol la anay.

‘Nay, makapoy, ayaw ak sugu-a.

‘Nay, mapiraw pa, ayaw lak anay pukawa.

‘Nay, mahubya gad, diri ak maupod.

‘Nay, masudoy ako, ayaw pag-isog.

‘Nay, nakain ka? Naiha ka man.

‘Nay, pagdali gad, bangin kita mabayaan.

‘Nay, tagi’n kwarta, may papaliton ko la.

‘Nay, sige na gad, importante la.

‘Nay, an ak uniform, ginlabhan mo na?

Liwat iton, bangin diri na it magmara.

‘Nay, an ak polo kurumos, plantsaha anay.

Mario “Mayok” Narrido is a native of San Miguel, Leyte and the first-born among four siblings. Raised from a humble family, he grew up making money on his own to upkeep his studies. Aside from making his classmates’ projects and by joining all the contests at school, he also joined several siday writing contests just to earn money. When his first siday entitled ‘Demand-Driven nga Statistika, Aton Kinahanglanon’ won the grand prize title during the 19th National Statistics Month ‘Siday’ Writing Contest in November 2008 held at the Philippine Information Agency, Regional Office 8, Tacloban City, he then fell in love with siday writing and decided to write more. Thus, this masterpiece.
